Hello! My name is Kathy Lee and it is a pleasure to meet you.
I am a Mark Keppel High School senior who have previously come from Monterey Vista Elementary and Richard Garvey Middle School. I have been in choir for 5 years, starting from the beginning of middle school and ending in my junior year of high school. In my senior year, I had to finish my academic requirements which, in turn, caused me to give up being in Mark Keppel's amazing Aztec Singers.
My love of musical theatre, however, pushed me to audition for the musical "Flower Drum Song" in my junior year and becoming a dancer in the musical. In senior year, they once again put on a musical. The Broadway hit "Beauty and the Beast" was brought to life by the talented actors and actresses and I was fortunate enough to be part of that cast.
In senior year, the opportunity to be in psychology presented itself as I had an extra period to fill in. My desire to become a criminal profiler drove me to choose the class even though I was warned that it could be quite hard. I found out later on that yes, that class is hard but it is well worth it. Psychology is a fun and incredibly amusing class.
As a child, I was always told that the job must be done no matter the obstacles in the way. One must always persevere and never give up because if you did, you'll never know what awaited you at the end of the path. I have always taken that piece of advice to heart and I hardly, if ever, let anything stop me from reaching my goal. Sometimes, this stubborn behavior causes problems but I struggle forward anyways. At the end of the road, I may be sweating and bleeding but I can smile and say "Look at what I've accomplished!" I believe that being fearful is all the more reason to do something. One must overcome their fears in order to move forward, right?
